Yesterday after visiting with Liz, I saw [livejournal.com profile] drabbo and [livejournal.com profile] kokomo and went round to Kim's place to finish off the eMac. Was able to scavenge file system mostly, but DiskWarrior did warn that it was extremely screwed and should be backed up onto another disk. So I copied everything over onto the new 160GB drive, it didn't boot, so I did an archive and install of Jaguar onto it and it boots ok, and the apps seem to run, left it doing system updates, so I hope it got thru that ok :)

So, back at work today. Heh :) Called up Liz this morning and she's seeming like she's still well onto the road to recovery, yay :D Am going up at Lunch time (12 - 1), then mum's taking me out for dinner after work and then she's coming up with me to visit liz at about 6:30, then I'm sticking around until 8 again.

Liz's doctor came to see her this morning.. the tumor was a chrondoblastoma and not agressive, so they removed it and grafted as planned. He did warn her that there's a 25% chance of reoccurance, and while that's a little high, I did point out to liz that it also means a 75% chance that it won't reoccur :) But yes, she'll be having regular xrays for the next few years just to make sure all remains well. These tumors generally don't occur once bones have fully fused, so once she turns 25 or so. She'll probably be in a splint for the entire of the next month and then crutches after that for a bit too. At this point, she'll probably be in the hospital until Monday or Tuesday, but it depends how she's feeling and stuff. But all is still going well :)

Went to see Liz at lunch time.. she's doing even better than last night.. she was looking a bit pale last night, but she is all colourful again now. She saw an occupational therapist today and I believe is currently doing some physio, which probably isn't fun, but will be helpful. But yes, generally more yay :)

meep..

Went out for lunch with mum after work.. had various tasty things, then remembered we hadn't bought a parking ticket.. go outside and there's one on the windshield.. curse ourselves for being remiss and say oh well.. then the parking person comes up and says if we bought a ticket then, she'ld tear up the infringement notice.. woot :) So we saved $59 on that.

We then went back to Charlies (and remembered to buy a ticket.. heh) and mum came up to visit Liz, then she went home and I stuck around for a while keeping Liz company and chatting about various things. Liz is doing much better and might even be going home tomorrow, but we'll see.. she was feeling very sad when I got there because the physio and then taking a shower had taken a lot out of her :( But we had lots of hugs and by the time I left she seemed a lot better. She'ld also had a bit of a walk around with the crutches while I was there and wasn't in too much pain from that, but I think she could probably do with another visit from the physio to reassure her about her technique :) Also probably waiting another day or two would be good, as the journey back to Upper Swan is rather long.. but yes, if you want to visit, you might want to call her first.

We now return me to my regularly scheduled sleep.
