Am in San Francisco. Am slightly jetlagged. Will sleep in about 6 hours when I get to Toronto.
Qantas' inflight has improved since 2002, ie, it's now interactive, so it has some reasonable content, but it still not great. The interactive bit keeps crashing, and has a horrible UI.. picture 8 button clicks to go to the next page of a listing of stuff, highlighting something by drawing a yellow rectangle on a white background of a screen with poor contrast. Flight path display for the perth-sydney flight was mostly just raw sensor data, but at the end it drew terrain.. and a checkerboard plane... missing skin maybe? :P
And you know, you look at an itinerary and go "4 hours perth to sydney, 13 hours sydney to san francisco, 4 hours san francisco to toronto" and go "how bad could it be?". You forget the 8 hour layover in sydney and the 4 hour one in san francisco, clearing customs *3* times but even then, note, again, to self alex, break flights up if you can help it. I'm getting too old for this..
Just one more flight left! Then I can sleep! wooo!
