Well, the recently mentioned server hard drive upgrade went totally crap. The new drives failed as we were copying data onto them.. blah, and they're not hot swappable (even more blah!). So we've taken the new drives out and returned them, and put the old drives back in... at least they're hot swappable and rebuildable. Is it too much bother for people to actually make decent hard drives? :P I don't know how much I trust the old drives.. but I guess we'll soon find out. I've made my mobile phone number disappear from the board at work, just in case it goes over the break. In the words of one of my friends: "Oh well, no data *I* care about is on that machine".
Also, CBC news was saying that changed to Canada's immigration act meant that people applying as skilled workers will now need to have freakin Masters degrees. Sorry, but a Masters degree makes you overqualified to do anything other than teach in a university or something. That's not a worker! Arrg. However, http://www.cic.gc.ca and http://www.canadavisa.com don't mention anything about the Masters degree thing, so I'm praying that it was just CBC being on crack :P
Today is Thursday. Tomorrow is the last day of work until Jan 7th 2002! yay! :D I haven't had more than 4 days off for aaaages.
