My day yesterday :)
Jul. 18th, 2002 07:29 amDid the normal work thing.. did some more network stuff. Almost finished. Heheh.
Also, converted our old tape jukebox into a single drive.. whcih was a bit of a challenge, but it only took about 45 scews :P Hehe. Still need to test it, but should be ok :)
Read live commentary of the macworld keynote.. gotta say I'm disappointed with them changing the name of iTools to ".mac", but I'm even more disappointed they're going to be charging US$100/year for it. I think Apple has jumped the shark.
"Junk the sharp" was something I found out about alittle while back.. it's when things (mainly TV shows) stop being cool and start being lame. With some shows you can pinpoint the exact moment, like Happy Days was in the last season, when Fonzie "jumps a shark" on his waterskis. Some say XF jumped the shark when it moved to LA, or when they killed off the LGM etc.
So anyway.. now I need to think about getting that TiBook I've been drooling over.. I dunno. The fact Apple is making people pay yearly and dearly for thier @mac.com has peeved me quite a bit. I don't think Apple is as "cool" of a company as they were. They still make nice hardware and some cool software, but.. where's the love?? :) I would have paid maybe US$25/year for just an email account.. I don't want the other crap they have with "dot mac", and I don't want to pay AU$200 for the year. I pay only slightly more than that for my ISP... blah
