Back to work today.. boo. Got our computers back from LCA.. almost all in one piece.. except of course for the monitor which tipped off the cart and fell 20cm/9inches to the ground and landed on it's face. Ewps. Fortunately we have a spare, and since this one actually seems like it's still working (tho the colours are severely fucked), we can use it for our server console where the spare one was. I was holding on to the monitor, except we'ld stopped, or so I thought, and let go.. then James moved the trolley or something and it tipped off. Tom seems happy to put it down to "just one of those things", which is good. I'd rather not pay half for a new one.. even tho it is only like AU$90, it's still $90 less for an iPod or other MP3 player, or a 60GB drive for the tibook, or a DV in/out + TV Tuner firewire thingy.. heh!
So.. something to buy with the money from the iBook.. options are:
256MB USB MP3 player - AU$259
10GB iPod - AU$777
20GB iPod - AU$920
60GB HDD for TiBook - AU$899
DV TV thingy - AU$1390
:/
The TiBook HDD is in an enclosure.. I'd remove the TiBook HDD and swap it with the one in the enclosure, so I wouldn't be wasting it.. Mmmm 100GB of HDD. Tho it's poxy 4200RPM for the 40GB and 5200RPM for the 60GB.. as opposed to the 80GB I use for backups, which is 7200RPM. Higher RPM = Faster... the 80GB is a noticably faster than the 40GB. But I'm down to 4.7GB free on the Powerbook's 40Gb, which means I can't run Virtual PC on it :/
There are, however, worse things in life ;)
