Apr. 28th, 2003 09:23 pmmeep. Maths is selling some more indys.. three of them are R5000s, which have a spiffy little silver wing on them which mine don't have.. one of them has a different graphics card, but none of them seem to have 24 bit cards.. bleh. And I opened 10 fricken indy cases to check. This is slightly painful, to say the least, and my fingernails will take a while to work out again. Indy cases are horrific to open after being closed for 6 years.
I'm sure I did some other stuff at work today, but none of it was as painful as that. Co-worker simon and boss tom were back, so that is helpful. Tom finally started using his new machine, so we have a machine spare, which we will be getting a 120GB HDD for and using as a system Image server for our student labs. Our current one only has 40GB and is almost full. I guess I could try getting him to buy a 200GB drive, but we'll see ;)
Got bored on Undernet and did a listing of connections from uwo.ca .. noticed two with the same username and realname field, but from different departments, ie, physics and social science.. got suspicious, noticed they were both on Romanian channels, sent an email off to noc@uwo.ca .. got a response back in about 10 minutes saying thanks, and noticed the machines disappear. w00t for responsive network admins. UWO's network actually seems to be run quite well. Almost as well as UWA's ;)
Yeah, geek I am ;)
