I forgot to mention that last night I saw several members of the Uruguaian rugby team shopping in the city. I didn't think it really warranted a seperate post or even updating last night's post again. In other Perth related Uruguaian news, after a three week chase thru the Antarctic of a Uruguaian illegal fishing vessel ended yesterday in Fremantle. In traditional Australian fashion, we'll sell the fish and scuttle the ship.

Saw the most recent Dido film clip.. is that Dom Deluise?? Freaky. Is he still alive?

Whatever else you think of the guy, thank goodness the US has a Poet Laureate and doesn't leave it up to Bush. Oh my.

Page 57 (750kb) of today's newpaper has an advert taking up 75% of the page width. Well, it's an advert since it's paid for, and thus has "Advertisement" up the top of it.. but to be more accurate it's a rambling diatribe about the bible, psychs (I don't think she could spell psychiatrists..), Saddam Hussein and a variety of other things, in the form of a letter addressed to our spiritual leader, John Howard (close, he's the prime minister, but whatever...) The writer identifies herself as the founder of The Quokka classifieds newspaper. Oh, and it ends in an invitation to a BBQ at some unit in south perth tomorrow afternoon. Oh damn, it's at the same time as I'm going to see Pirates tomorrow with [livejournal.com profile] aphrodite, et al. Edit: It's since been pointed out to me that I know this woman's daughter, and there's an outside chance she might read this, so I'm changing the post to friends only (she's not on the list currently)

Speaking of our fearless leader John Howard, the travel briefing prepared for George W Bush identified our Prime Minister as John Major.. erm. Yeah. Not quite. The briefing named the Australian Prime Minister as "John Major" and was dismissive of Canberra [Australian Capital Territory] as a destination. The ACT's Tourism Minister, Ted Quinlan, described the White House as "bloody patronising". Ahh Australia :)

So Alex is bored. Watching channel [V] - Music videos. Cake - Short skit/ Long Jacket. Very funky song, and the flim clip is good too.. has a bunch of people listening to the song and sayingg what they think of it, with names and occupations underneath. So I thinks to myself, I wonder if these are real people's names, or just actors or something, so I type in one of the names at random into Google.

A Jnr High student named Robbyn Seat. So a fairly uncommon seeming name. In fact, Google only returns one result. From a missing kids page.. she hasn't been seen since last November 20th and is only 15 :/ Spooky.

Update: Alex is still bored, and it googlestalking the rest of the people in that film clip. Jim Soper, an architect, rebuilt a pub in Stoke-on-trent, England, 17 years after dismantling it. Elizabeth Cullen had LASIK and was really happy with it. Deirdre Fitzpatrick is still a reporter with KCRA, and does Ironwoman races all over the world in her spare time. Steve Boeckels came 9983rd in this year's Bay to Breakers race. Kurt Skelton works at The World Cafe bar. Q.T. Kenan is working as a VAR for Toshiba in MI. Ralph Walbridge has a demonic friend named John Lord

I've upgraded Gallery on http://theducks.org/gallery .. and apparently it's working for some people it didn't work for before. But it's not working on my Windows XP + IE box, so YMMV on that.. stupid IE :P Stupid Microsoft etc. It really is their fault, and the only way to get the patch is to ring them up and ask for it specifically. Bleh :P Edit: Ok, apparently it's in one of the most recent SP1s (like, last week..), I just applied that and it still doesn't work properly. Sigh.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pooxs for testing with Win98 + IE6 :)
