As we speak, [livejournal.com profile] lizbyrd is on her way to hospital for surgery to remove a tumor from her patella and get a bone graft.. I know, in the big scheme of things it's "not that serious" and there's probably little chance for problem.. but just.. well it sucks to see friends having to have surgery and then there's recovery from the general anesthetic and then she will be on crutches for 6 weeks. For scale, we've only been going out for 7 weeks thus far! Arrg.

I'm also worried because they won't know what sort of tumour it is until after they start the operation.. and if it's agressive they'll end this one today without doing anything and do further tests and schedule another one later this week.

But I'm thinking positive, and that it will be benign ("good") and they'll be able to fix her up good as new today so she can start recovering :]

Sigh. Poor Liz tho

Surgery has been postponed until Thursday morning at 8AM. She doesn't have a room yet, but will be in hospital until then to save on paperwork and readmission and some they can keep an eye on her, which means she'll probably won't be leaving Thursday as planned.

Sigh :(

Liz has a room now.. so it looks like she'll be staying there.. there was a possibility she might be coming home until wednesday night, but it seems not. But she is in good spirits, as they say :)

And I shall dub thee "Lizjournal"... but putting that aside..

Went to see Liz this evening, she was there with mum and dad and sister and so we all had a good ole chat, then [livejournal.com profile] dr_jekyl came along and Liz's parent's left and between us, we kept her amused for most of the rest of the visiting hours. Liz is ok, aside from the IV, but that's better than continually getting jabbed :)

Anyway, tomorrow (Wednesday).. Liz visiting hours are 8AM - 12Noon, then pretty much 3PM to 8PM. However, remember that liz does actually have a family (who call her Elizabeth.. heh!), and the room is reasonably small, and they will probably want to spend some time with her towards 8PM.. so you might want to plan early and keep that in mind..

On Thursday she goes in for surgery at 8AM, and it might be a few hours, as while she's under they need to do a biopsy and get the results of that and stuff, and she's probably not going to be in a great shape afterwards, so would probably appreciate that people don't visit until they see the OK in here or [livejournal.com profile] velithya's LJ.

Anyway, she thanks all for their best wishes and wishes it was over already. Meep :]

Update: Dinner is at around 5 - 5:30, and she has a drip at 6 - 6:45, so unless you really want to see Liz's blood.. it's probably best to avoid then too.
