(no subject)
Aug. 18th, 2004 12:19 amThere was a time when I'd ramble in here several times a day.. sadly dear readers, my nonline (non-on-line.. get it? ... nevermind..) has been rather full and enjoyable lately, so I haven't been spending that much time brooding, so I don't have much to say. Sorry :)
I've done a major rewrite of my Labmonitor program, but haven't updated the release on the website. It looks funky and lets me do more with the data. Done lots of other really geeky stuff at work too, but I'm sure no-one will care. Though I'll mention it anyway.. I've finally got most of the major stuff I want into the network database's feature set.. it now generates port mappings for VMPS from the database, and also DHCP maps and DNS mappings, as well as a setup-info page (with high-res graphics :D) and almost prints stickers too. Basically, we enter a host in this, print out the page for the user, run a command on a server, and hey presto, the machine is on our network and being tracked. It's very nifty :)
Still living with the large number of people. Still pondering fixing this at some point soonish, but generally it's working ok for now. Poor
lizbyrd has been almost-not-living here for a while.. as in, spending a lot of time here, but not able to move her stuff here, which is a bit distressing for her. Hugs to Liz.
Also today, I updated the counter on my website to look very .mac-ish. My webpage also says I turn 25 in 38 days time. Oh dear :) I'm soooo old.
That's about it for now. Will post more next time the feeling moves me :)
