I loooove courier companies.
Aug. 29th, 2004 09:42 pmNo, not really. You will all recall the unplesantness of melbourne caused by our friends at Australian Air Express, now let us never speak of it again. My latest fun is due to my friends at The United Parcel Service, or "brown" as they are attempting to brand themselves now.
I ordered something from ThinkGeek. It scanned out of Lexington KY at 4:51AM on August 26. It's now 9:46AM on August 29. And there's nothing else since. Hooray. Today, mum got a message for me from UPS asking if I could call them today.. I called and they're apparently closed. So I have no idea why. I seem to recall (from 2000) that they do actually update it if it's awaiting customs clearance.. but I have no idea why they would care about this shipment. It's tshirts, and it's worth AU$215. This makes import duty worth $21. They don't collect unless it's more than $50, so it wouldn't be that. Maybe they're naturally suspicious about stuff from ThinkGeek or something.
Feh.
For the curious, I am hopefully getting the following shirts:
2+2=5 - Black, XL
Binary People - Black, XL
Digital Angel - Navy, M
Esc - Blue Dusk, XL
Obey gravity, It's the law! - Blue Dusk, XL
Power Symbol - Black, XL
Volatile Hyperlinkage - Black, XL
übergeek - Indigo Blue, XL
Hopefully they arrive :P
