Busy today! Oh my. The morning was mostly working out infrastructure issues for some new networks we're putting in. It's the beginning of a new era, or something like that :) These are going to be campus wide networks, run by ITS, using ITS switches, present in almost every building on campus, sitting behind the central firewall. The first of them won't be for users, mostly building management stuff. Additionally, we've been putting some stuff in place for VoIP infrastructure. The first of the phones have arrived, and we've started planning where they're going. Also today,
grahame has done things to extending (non-enable) access for our switches to certain people in ACS, extending the olive carrot of co-operation for ITS. I've also worked out how to policy route mail inside the firewall out to the central virus/spam scanning box, which is quite important, due to the colleges going on it this week. This is quite nifty :)
Play
I bought Half Life 2 in Queensland ($44!) and have been playing it a fair bit. Tonight, I started playing CounterStrike Source. It's very cool :) I shall have to play it a bit more. I have it installed on the PC connected to the TV. Mmm TV gaming.
Additionally, I have a wonderful and delighful girlfriend. Who is currently toasting marshmellows in front of our gas heater. Brilliant. Even if it was Amy's idea.
