Thursday and Friday last week was at an AusCERT Windows Security hands on workshop. Learnt some cute things about securing Windows XP/2003, and also about some good tools for doing some system investigation on them. Sat next to shorebuck for the hands on bits. Was a good workshop. I think I surprised some of my UWA co-workers with how much I actually know about Windows. See, the reason I use macs is not because I don't know about Windows, it's exactly the opposite. I use them because I *do* know about Windows.

Had a great night yesterday at Alexa/paperishcup's birthday party. Woo :D Good people, good food, good times. I drove there and back, which has got me up to about 8.5 hours of 25 hours driving done. We played games, listened to sea shanties and played with a shiny 21 inch iMac G5 (Alexa's dad runs a Mac store), all in their wonderful house up in the hills. I especially loved the kitchen and the jarrah spiral staircase.

Today I bought my first iTunes Music Store music.. I got the Barenaked Ladies - iTunes Originals. It's awesome. There's a bunch of new recordings of their greatest hits, as well as a lot of interview type tracks of Ed and Steve. However, the cutest thing ever is the line from Pinch Me: "Put the sprinkler on the lawn, and run through with my gym shorts on" .. which is changed to "Put the sprinkler on the lawn, and run through with my iPod on". Hah! I will buy the Alanis iTunes originals soon too.

Anyway, in summary Apple good, everything else not windows also good, windows bad.
