Jul. 26th, 2006 08:50 pmOk, to clarify, we were in Montreal, not Quebec. That being said, we head off to England tomorrow..
1945h - Flight
1645h - Arrive airport
1530h - Airport Shuttle bus leaves
1500h - Taxi to shuttle stop
1430h - Commence checkout
So we have the morning free. There's a few museums nearby which should be fun. We also have not had Poutine yet. This must be fixed before we leave!
Today: Walked around downtown Montreal in morning. Came back here for a while to relax (it's hot and humid here!) then went to Vieux Montreal in the afternoon. Went to Ben and Jerry's for ice cream. Some American tourist girls were in line behind me and said "I love his accent" .. I turned around and she then said "oh crap, he speaks english". Yes, given you noticed my accent, presumably you noticed what language I was speaking too ;) So remember Australia guys, your accent is gold here! Met up with one of Liz's fangirl associates for dinner (Pho), came back here to McGill.
Yesterday: Slept in, went to the Biodome in the afternoon. Saw many penguins, puffins and auks. Went up the Montreal Olympic Tower. I was initially concerned for my safety somewhat, since Montreal was.. somewhat cash strapped - to the tune of $2 billion, and I didn't like the sound of riding on something 30 years old built while they were running out of money, but it's all good - they only actually finished the stadium in 1989. Went to Old Montreal and Notre Dame Cathedral, and got rained on a lot.
Monday: Took a hop on hop off tour of Montreal. Saw all the major sites and took lots of photos. Got sunburnt. Had Montreal smoked meat for lunch.
Sunday: Left London Ontario.. I had a really awesome time there seeing everyone again, and it's always hard to leave, especially not having any firm plans for my next visit :( Thanks go to H and Nic especially for putting up and putting up with us. Also to everyone who came along to our X-Files snark session, that was awesome fun.
