penchaft's post, which had the table of contents from an email sent to her, and no doubt many other people, by Falun Gong supporters. I was mentioning that we've seen a few of them at work.
My comment got an interestingly constructed reply about how Falun Gong were lying and thus distracting people from talking about reform in China. I say "interestingly constructed", since not even I, with my sometimes unique usages of english, have ever used the phrase "bring to your attention some contrarian facts". Turns out, neither has anyone else. Except, 38 other blog responses, all about Falun Gong.
The response posted to my comment is an excerpt from a post by Blogger user Bobby Fletcher. Bobby writes about all sorts of things.. the myths of organ harvesting in china (and hey, would it be so bad anyway?), the myth of the tiananmen square massacre (most people died in unrelated shootings in the streets surrounding the square!) and how China are such great people for allowing Christians to worship (there's even photos, with no one looking at the supposed foreign devil taking them).
So putting aside the fact that few people call themselves Bobby once they reach puberty (Bobby is aka Charles Liu, but perhaps the dear leaders followers felt a Chinese name stands out too much), does it seem to anyone else like the Chinese government is astroturfing? :) I did some more digging and apparently, yes, Sydney IMC do too, though in typical IMC fashion, he's called a spy. He probably is.
For the record, since the Chinese government is probably reading this, I think both sides are acting like total crack monkies. My belief in flying spaghetti monsters at the best of times is at a level of toleration only, and on the other hand, me thinks the Chinese government doth protest too much. And hey, Penny, I'd be interested to know what IP that comment was posted from :)
