What a day..
Jun. 10th, 2007 07:45 pmStarted up at 7:45, walked to car rental place, rented 2 vans, and 18 of us faithful drove off. First stop was Frys electronics. Frys is cool, but not as cool as Akihabara, imho. Bought a few cheapish gadgets. Went to the Valley Mall (Silicon Valley :P) and had lunch, then off to the Apple campus. Went to the Apple Company Store on campus, and bought some t-shirts. They had 15% off all iPods, today only. Gee, I wonder why. Then, we all headed home.
Got dropped off at the hotel, went up to my room for a bit of a break, then walked down to the Moscone Center to register. Got my bag and tshirt and badge. Mmm badge. Aside from the keynote, the rest is NDA, with a specific note about blogs.
Went back to hotel room, called up
lizbyrd and had a chat, then went to the AUC welcome. Met many funky people, including the famous Quinn, a guy named Brenden, who is the product manager for Mail.app, and a guy named Ken, who came up with the samples in Text-to-Speech ("The light you see at the end of the tunnel / is the headlamp of a fast approaching train" and friends), among other things. Ken also does "card magic", and is amazing at it.
That's about it. I'm going to have an early night tonight so I can make it to the keynote nice and early and get a good seat.
