Macbook Power Supply repair..
Aug. 4th, 2007 04:43 pmSo
conradin's power supply broke from repetitive winding of the Magsafe cable around Apple's provided ears. Good going guys..
Anyway, it's a simple enough repair, except you need to open the case to do it properly, and once it's open, there's no closing it again. The solution involves a $12 case, some heatshrink, and a scavenged IEC socket and some wire.
The new case is airtight, all the cables are heatshrinked, have strain relief and even the screws holding the IEC socket in are non-conductive. Mm safety first (click on photo to view flickr set with another 4 photos).
