Back in 1996, before he was a big star, I spent 6 hours sitting behind him as an extra while filming Sweat. I have to say, in our limited time talking, he did seem like a bit of a jerk, but that was probably just compared to the others on the show who were really nice (like Louise Miller who I spent hours talking to, and Melissa Thomas).
He wrote into the West a few weeks ago thanking the paper for leaving him alone to have a nice time while he was in Perth over summer. The west wrote "erm, yeah sure, no problem. Wait, you were in Perth?". To die in a foreign land, away from family and friends, is not a fate I desire.
