 1. What did you do in 2021 that you'd never done before?

Spray-painted a Macintosh Plus black. Livestreamed a wedding, and several weeks later, a funeral (different people, thankfully)

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I can't remember. Maybe?

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes! Our friend Grace. Seeing bebbie tomorrow.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Yes. As mentioned previously, my old friend from Western, Katie, and then in late November, our dear dear friend Joyce :( Fuck cancer, srsly.
 

5. What countries did you visit?

None. At least we are allowed out of the country again, but you can't get back into WA right now..
 

6. What would you like to have in 2022 that you lacked in 2021?

Less existential dread
 

7. What dates from 2021 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
November 27, waking up to E telling me about an instagram post from Joyce saying she was going to die in a couple of hours. FB messenger chats with someone you know is going to be dead in a couple of hours is a head spin. There was plenty of warning that it was coming soon, but the schedule got pushed up a couple of days as her health went down hill.

 

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Built furniture (cabinets), maintained lost weight, stayed most sane

 

9. What was your biggest failure?
Managed to piss off another dear old friend. Initially on something baseless, later on something a little more reasonable. Would rather it had not happened.

 

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Finally got to see my dad and he brought a cold with him. Thanks :P
 

11. What was the best thing you bought?

SawStop Contractor saw and a Festool Domino joiner.

Scotty from marketing. Fuck that guy.

After mortgage repayments, woodworking equipment

i. happier or sadder? happier

ii. thinner or fatter? thinner, but not by a huge amount this year.

iii. richer or poorer? Richer, in that I'm in less debt for the mortgage..

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Within current restraints due to risks, nothing.

Pissing people off. I try to balance my ledger.. but.. the bad has more of a lasting impact.

With Eliz's family in Melville. On a 40C day, weightlifting kids.

Red Notice was hilarious. No time to die was great too, also had a great d&m chat with the friend I saw it with afterwards.

Dinner with family at Panchos mexican. I was 42.

Burying the lede here in question 32, but it would have been a whole lot better without a fucking pandemic.
