Housewarming party went well.. good turn out and stuff :) Had fun.

Today I headed over to North Perth and did laundry, had a bit of a nap, went into the city, had a look at dryers, so I can actually do it here ;p They have combination washer/dryers now! OMFG! Technology is wonderful. But they're about $800, so maybe I'll just get a dryer ;>

Mmm and we have a microwave now *microwaves dinner* :)

hahah! they've been out for yeeeeeeeeears, just not popular in australia. but this is where the whole frontloader thing comes into play. in europe etc, they dont have separate laundries - not enough space. so a frontloader goes in the kitchen, which is why its the same dimensions as a dishwasher! and of course, you cant do your drying outside in the middle of winter, and you dont have space anywhere in your flat for a drying rack or a dryer, so hey... make the front-loader do it!

it all makes sense in a weird european kinda way

just wait til the bosch front-loader comes out, you can program it from your computer - like tell it exactly how many half-spins to do on particular stains and rubbish like that ;)

Mmm programmable washing machines. I'd love to be able to set the thing to do "wash clothes, wait 5 minutes, dry clothes. make bing noise when finished and SMS me if the door isn't opened within 5 minutes"

that would be cool :D

this might sound like a stupid question, but why the hell do you need a dryer at the moment? it's practically summer! quite often the first load of my washing is almost dry by the time I hang the second out. And you know that dryers use lots of power, right? :P
