When we were roadtripping in '07 I think the most we paid at motels was about $90/night (and that was for a twin room sleeping two to a double bed), most of them were $50 - $60. Now admittedly you might be after a higher class of lodging but all of the motels but one had internet (included in the room price) and the one that didn't we just dumped our stuff and then drove down to the Super 8 which had unsecured wireless, parked in the carpark outside for an hour while we checked our email etc, and then went back to our motel to sleep ;P
