It's interesting though, because Microsoft is almost ubiquitous in that section of the consumer market that doesn't upgrade its machine + OS every couple of years.

(I believe) you'd be hard pressed to find someone rocking a 2005 Mac at this point in time. Collectors and weirdos aside. This means that Microsoft faces unusual trouble getting its users in line.

They do, however, have a pretty terrible record on software update technology, it's all a mixed bag I suppose.
