A year in review - 2020 Edition!

1. What did you do in 2020 that you'd never done before?

Sat on a Jury in the state supreme court on a murder trial. Trial aborted after 6 days of 6 weeks. Dodged a bullet there. Maybe literally.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

No and yes.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

No

4. Did anyone close to you die?

Yes. [Bad username or site: vampireborg  @ livejournal.com]We weren't exactly super close best buddies.. but fuck me that was too soon :(
 

5. What countries did you visit?

None. Literally not allowed to leave Australia right now.
 

6. What would you like to have in 2021 that you lacked in 2020?

Probably still a kid. It's been four years of trying and.. it's not great. But maybe less not great than it was last year
 

7. What dates from 2020 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
None of them. The whole fucking year was terrible and shit, and as someone in Perth Australia.. we literally have it the best in the world, I can't imagine what it's like to be anywhere else. The months of March, April, May and June all blur into one with no defining character.

 

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Built furniture (cabinets), lost weight, stayed sane

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

No - not quite the opposite, and after about 6 months, the probiotics stopped working :(
 

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Bandsaw was pretty awesome.

Jacinda Ardern.

Donald Trump. Fuck that guy.

IVF

Nothing.

ii. thinner or fatter? thinner! I lost 13kg this year!

iii. richer or poorer? Richer, in that I'm in less debt for the mortgage..

It's absurd, but I haven't read words on paper this year. I HAVE however listened to a lot of audiobooks - including most of Lord Peter Whimsey.

Sammy Copley. He's AMAZING.

A bandsaw.

I'm.. not sure I went to the cinema this year?

Dinner with family. I was 41.

Burying the lede here in question 32, but it would have been a whole lot better without a fucking pandemic.

How awesome is Jacinda Ardern? I don't mean it in the way the question is asking, she's just so.. humane and caring for a political leader

America is a fucking trash fire.

So.. did not actually meet anyone.

That I actually can stay at home for three months and not go insane.
