Well no, not really.. More like "everyone loves investigating alex" .. close enough ;>
Last thursday, I paid off my credit card, friday, I buy an iPod from apple.com.au online with credit card, saturday I buy palm tungsten..
Today I get a call from Apple computer asking me to please explain why I'm ordering from the educational store.. and that if I'm not a teacher or student, I'm not supposed to. After sufficient brow beating, they came back and said, "oh yes, you can buy from us, sorry." .. hopefully now I'm flagged as a verified EDU purchaser ;p bleh. I really would have gone off at them if they'ld said no about equity issues and then point out that I have more contact with students than most lecturers do :P Anyway, the iPod is shipped, so all is well with that for me..
Tho possibly not for Apple.. I got a call when I get home asking me to call a 1800 number and ask for "Julie and quote reference 777" .. so I call it and get the after hours message .. "thank you for calling The Commonwealth Bank internal security department.. our hours of business are.. " etc. Cheezeit, it's tha feds! Or something like that.. So my bank isn't paying Apple yet, cause they don't know if it's a valid transaction.. yet Apple has sent the iPod ;> Heh. Oh well, I'll call up the bank tomorrow and hopefully straighten this out. I suppose spending 80% of your credit limit in a 24 hour period is a tad suspicious.. oh well. Mum is paying me back for the iPod, cause she'll really be the one using it
Nice of the bank to look out for me tho.. bit pissed at apple, I mean, it's being delivered to the university, who else would I be? :P Ahh well.
