Went over to the cousin's place last night and watched a huge ass thunderstorm thru their windows. Looks like I found a place to stay in Japan, has 802.11b and wired internet access, near Akihabara and they speak english, which is good because 私わばかわ外人しょちえ日本語が分かりません :)

i must be out of the loop. but you're going to japan? the princess from work is too. she leaves in a couple of weeks. (found out tuesday, same day as her interview)

No, it's from a japan guidebook :) And my trying to work out how to use apple japanese input ;)

Can you give me some pointers on that? I just can't figure it out. Use the character pallete yes?

Presuming you're using OSX.. you turn on Japanese input, then you type the characters in in english like "watashi wa" and it provides a basic transliteration like わたしわ　and then you can press enter to accept it's suggestion or double click on the underlined bit to see options like 私わ　or ワタシわ　depending on what you want :)

あっ、そうですね！　私は日本語を読むのがちょっとへたですから。

i love the apple japanese and chinese input systems ... they provide so many options. awesome. i'm sure the languages are just as well-implemented. ♥ apple. :D

you have to tell us about your exploits in nihon, and take lots of engrish (http://www.engrish.com) photos :D
