Allo. A day of parties.. went to cousin Tim's this morning/early afternoon, had a haicut, went to lj user="dexywexy">'s at Observation City.. nice place. should go there again some time. FINALLY met pennae, and also jennheifer - a Chicagoian temporarily transplanted to Perth, and drabbo, who kindly dropped me home. Much fun was had by all. About 15 people in total were there.. good food, reasonable price, good staff etc. And no tip, cause we're Australians and no-one expects that here ;>

I had an afternoon nap at Tim's place, but yeah, still sleepy. I do most of my sleeping on weekends ;) I can't believe Saturday is over already tho. blort ;p

Tipping

FYI: The reason tipping is expected here is because food servers are paid below minimum wage, with the rest (theoretically) made up for in tips. So when you're here, never ever ever stiff a server unless they REALLY suck.

Yeah, I know that bit.. ugh, but that's a stupid bit of labor law inequity :/ I mean, the food over there costs more anyway, not even factoring the tip.

Ahh yes, near Urbana. Well you didn't say that ;) I think when I was working at http://www.ecu.edu.au, we had a few students from UIUC :) (University of Illinois at Urbana Champage, ha!)
