So yes, yesterday went mostly as planned. Wasn't able to test the modem, because some numbnut at UWA's telephone exchange decided to unprovision our analog line. Thankyouveryfrickenmuch. I have unleased the dogs of war on them to ensure it doesn't happen again. Lunch was good, but Mark and Bruce didn't turn up. Ahh well. Umm it was like.. outside.. and it was 27C at the time. So I got a bit of sunburn. Cuurses. Though they do say Vitamin D is good for you or something like that.

Went straight from work to meet Susan at Subi train station. Got a birthday present.. Austin Powers 3 soundtrack! Shagadelic baby! :D And a funky hand made card.. which was realyl cool and had a ducky on it :D *QUACK* Went down to Fremantle, had an authentic italian style pizza.. mmm nummy. Went thru freo's many bookstores. Found a nifty one called Magpie books,, which is all old books. Very cool. Also had nifty Gelare gelati. Mmm mango. Hung out watching TV and chatting at her place for a bit, then I got home at like.. 1AM. Mmm early. Heh.

Slept for.. hmm 10 hours? Yay :D Tim got his new-and-improved eMac today. Might go over and visit it.. though I do need to go clothes shopping too.. I need new pants. And praise be to [livejournal.com profile] blu for this link. Thems funny stuff.

Ahh well. Time to get showered or something in the newly painted bathroom. It's a pastel blue now.. was just pastel grey before. Ahh well. Tis nifty looking anyway :)

Well.. I did get to see Tim's new eMac.. very spiffy :) But first, I got dragged around to one of their friends' houses to fix a Windows 2000 computer which was dead ("NTLOADER Failed".. eek!) .. and fix it I did. They're also getting a CD-RW and some more RAM in the near future which I will install, and paying a bit for my time then, which will be nice of them. Also checked their printer, scanner and modem were working, as well as installed some anti virus software for them, and cleaned up some stuff.

Fun fun!

Not really, but oh well. I'm a nice boy or something, and I didn't have much else planned :)

Uh yeah, and they had two phone lines.. and sweet mother of dog.. I'd never seen anything like it. For their second line, telstra was presumably out of cables back to the exchange for their local IDF box.. so they provisioned these people's first phone line for ISDN, and put an ANT on it, and ran the second phone line off that.. so they have this weird-ass wall mounted Analogue NT unit which the second phone line runs out. I've NEVER seen ISDN used in residential areas for just providing a second line. Weird. They said everyone who'ld seen it had no idea what it was.. hardly surprising that.. you don't see them in homes. It's out of place, like a night club playing Bach or Mozart.. Very bizarre indeed :)

Had nachos for dinner.. mmm nummy :)
