Jul. 17th, 2003 10:30 amMmm so yesterday.. I went to the imperial war museum firstly.. got off at Elephant and Castle tube stop, and then spent like 5 minutes trying to find my way out of the pedestrian underpass maze that's outside there.. eventually made it and got to the museum. It's quite impressive, especially the Holocaust exhibit they have there, which is really sad :/ but well worth the visit. Walked back to Elephant and Castle, spent another 5 minutes going thru the underpass (really, it's THAT bad.. sort of a pentagon, but with horrible signage).. I had three other people following me who had got lost in there too.. we got to the tube station and *woop*woop*woop* they find a suspicious package and close the station, so then myself and my followers walked to the next nearest stop and got on the Jubilee line heading north..
after two stops, the train is borded by about 25 cops, with handcuffs out and in their hands.. but they didn't seem to find who they were after, so after 5 minutes stopped in the 95F/36C underground, we were off again. I went to St Johns Wood, and almost got blown over by a pressure differential at the door.. yikes. And then, I went to Abbey Road! :D I was following a nice bunch of american kids who didn't know where they were going, but I had a map and was able to reassure them they were in the right place.. took some photos, but then it started raining, so I went back underground and went to Covent Garden
In Covent Garden I went to the markets and the London Transport Museum and got some dinner, a traditional stuffed spud with ham and cheese.. mm. Then it was getting late and everything was closing up, so I headed back to Brixton and watched the first Harry Potter movie on DVD.. well most of it, I was really tired and waited till this morning to finish it.
Today I'm thinking Westminster Abbey and Greenwich Naval Museum, followed by digital camera shopping with Sue at 3PM.
