Back home..
Jul. 19th, 2003 03:42 pmSo I got home safely.. after a 1 hour delay leaving heathrow due to congestion a the airport.. normally this would be bad enough, however the auxillary power unit on the plane had failed, which meant no aircon on the ground, which made it.. most unplesant on board. Then 12.5 hours to Singapore and about 5 to Perth. Eeeeasy :P
A most unusual thing happened at heathrow as I was going up an escalator.. I looked at the person next to me and said "you're from perth, aren't you?" .. and indeed she was. How freaky! She was an ex customer of coles north perth from many years ago.. now living in england, but soon moving to the US..
Also interesting, the flight route went right thru the middle of Afghanistan, across the top corner of Iran and over the tribal areas of Pakistan, so I said hi to Usama :P But it was night time, so I couldn't see the land undernearth. Ahh well ;p
No worries with Australian Customs, and all home safely. Eeexcellent.
