Apr. 11th, 2005 09:32 pmApparently, the shrub has an iPod. Oh dear. He apparently only has 250 songs on it, all encoded from CDs. He has some John Fogarty (of Creedence Clearwater Revival), but not, unsurprisingly, Fortunate Son. You might remember its lyrics of "I ain't no senator's son/ Some folks are born silver spoon in hand.". Enough said :)
In related news, the linked article seems to have some javascript which prevents copying text from the document. Asshats. Yay for view source.

lizbyrd and I went shopping and got a new TV stand. Yay TV stands. This one is especially cool, as it fits the HTPC computer in it, so it can be off the floor. Yay! It also has some cool stuff for managing cables. We saw it last weekend at KMart belmont, but didn't have measurements of the computer.. we got the measurements and went to KMart morley.. who didn't have any in boxes. So we talked to the goons.. apparently it was discontinued. Eep! It was also supposed to come with two side tables, but they had lost theirs.. RRP was $100. Since this was the demo model and the tables were missing and it was discontinued, we got it for.. $20! Score! :D We didn't need the tables, this thing is exactly the right size for our gear, and it matches most of the other furniture in our loungeroom.
In other news, my tax refund went in today (huzzah!) but hasn't cleared yet (boo). It's also pay week, so with any luck, my credit card will be paid off by thursday. Yay paid off. Then there's just the matter of rent and a $226 monthly power bill ;p
In still more news, the DVR is once again getting repaired. The new parts have apparently arrived, so we should be going to pick up the rice cooker (also repaired) and the DVR sometime this week. So currently, the Foxtel box is plugged into the PC, and the PC plugged into the TV. It actually works quite nicely. Yay geeking.
