Apple share price
Oct. 15th, 2007 09:46 amSo, in August 2002, I bought a Powerbook G4. I paid the then-insane amount of AUD$7000 for it. This was roughly equivalent to USD$3815.75 at the time.
If I had instead purchased Apple shares at then-price of USD$6.985 each, I would have got 546 shares.
If I sold those shares last week, they would have been worth USD$92,867 (AUD$103,185).
Eh bien, however. If I'd spent my AUD$4000 on Apple shares in November 1997, when I bought a Performa 5500/250, when everyone was saying Apple was in its death throes, I would have got 784 shares at $3.1875 each. Those shares would now be worth AUD$148,264, or a 3700% profit.
If I'd bought AUD$3500 of Apple shares in May 06 when I bought the Macbook Pro, I would have got 38 shares, which would today be worth AUD$7177
