theducksStarted my day bright and early in upper swan today.. made the trip into work.. installed a whole lot of switches and completed (mostly) the network upgrade for the south building.. yay me :D There will be some cleanups when we get a list of what should and shouldn't be patched, and they're still connected to the north building by 100M only, but the GigE fibre will go in when there's a GigE port free in the north building. But yay for finishing the south building.. it really was the hardest.. a lot of the places I had to install switches were a long way off the ground (3m/10ft) in some cases.
After work, I pondered going to Officeworks to buy a new bookcase, but needed a way to get there and back with it.. I was pondering getting a disabled taxi to bring me back with it.. but just at that moment, a friend of housemates turned up and asked if anyone wanted to go anywhere that night.. and he had a truck. Yay for Dave Thatcher :) Went to officeworks and got the bookcase and good open-box special on a new battery for my mobile phone.. so hopefully it will stop randomly dying in the middle of phonecalls, like the old one did. Came home, put bookcase together, put in room, admired for a few minutes, had a really quick shower, then watched League of extraordinary gentlemen with housemates. I enjoyed it, but I guess I can kinda see why it got panned at the box office. There were plot holes and so many predictable things, but I still liked it :)
And now, some sleep.
