Tiired :)

Had a faaairly busy weekend.

Saturday

Went to archery in the morning with [livejournal.com profile] kadeton, [livejournal.com profile] stephiepenguin and of course [livejournal.com profile] lizbyrd. Except our car stalled three times on the way to pick up stephie, so we took the penguinmobile instead of risking the highway with ours. [livejournal.com profile] lizbyrd drove the penguinmobile there. Archery was good. [livejournal.com profile] kadeton drove the penguimobile home, and aside from running it into the brick wall in the garage, all went well. It sounds worse than it was.. the license plate just touched the the wall :) Was fun to see Davyd freak when we told him ;) Limped our Stylish Design car up to Nandos for lunch, then home. Had a nap, did some dishes. [livejournal.com profile] greyreviews /walked/ over to see us.. had dinner. Liz and I then caught a taxi to mum's place to spend the night. We had a quick test of mum's car, and it eventually started (hadn't been driven for 3 weeks and the battery was a little flat).

Sunday

Woke up nice and early this morning.. I drove out to the airport, the column gear shift and lack of power steering being devil magic liz wanted no part of (and it was good practise).. picked up mum, drove her home and got her settled back. Liz and I then caught the bus home. Slept more. Then in the afternoon Liz and I rode into the city, did some shopping and then rode home again. Yay riding. I think it's about 6kms each way. Did more dishes. Almost done.

I feel a bit tired :)

Battery shouldn't be going flat. More likely there was no oil in any part of the engine that was of higher potential than required, as well as no fuel in the lines and all the other things that find new low points under gravity. This causes the starter motor to have to turn more times than might otherwise be required. If the battery was measurably flatter, I am pretty sure you would find that it would simply go 'tick, whirrr' and not actually do the thing where it starts.

You should also check the oil and coolant levels in cars that haven't been started in some time (as they might have decided to vanish). You should also check oil and fluids in your own car.

I thought of you while shopping.. there's a pulp fiction deluxe edition out now that has subtitles. I remember you mentioning that the previous release didn't.

It might've been the Princess Bride I was talking about, I've seen Pulp Fiction :) But thank you! :)
