So during fangirling tonight.. the airport express that connects the downstairs network to the upstairs one died.. booo :( Cue minor look of horror from co-fangirls .. then.. "never fear, I have a spare!" *pulls one out of bag and configures it up*

Fangirling saved.

But now I need another spare one :P

Nah, it's the one that used to be at Animal House, so it's at least 18 months old.

We've got a spare but I think it's b0rked.

Pity, 'cause we no longer live in a house that has the cable modem in the same room as the stereo. No AirTunes for me :*(

Obviously your new AEx will need to be a HOT spare, running permanently off battery power and auto-detecting any other units in range so as to take over should they go offline.
