Adventures with the Wax Queen

Today we met up with
sammers at Harrods. Had a look in Harrods at Harrods bears and the creepy Diana/Dodi memorial. Caught the tube to Mme. Tussaud's waxworks. Saw many people, some real, some wax. Including a wax Samuel L. Jackson standing next to a wax John Travolta. Didn't take many photos, as it was packed. Went to Went to a Beatles Shop (but did they have Beatles for sale?), then wandered up to Buckingham Palace. The real Queen wasn't home. Walked through Green Park and St James Park. Saw many ducks, but more swans and geese.
Walked to Waterloo Place, and noticed a whole bunch of filming vans around. Apparently they are filming some Stephen King thing (1408). While waiting for the lights, we saw Samuel L Jackson, for the second time today. Except this time, he wasn't wax. He walked right behind us.. heh. After regaining composure, I noticed a bus with Snakes on a plane advertised. I was restrained from yelling out a request to remove some snakes from a plane. Since I'm not a yob.
Sam went home shortly thereafter, then Liz and I went to Wagamama for dinner. Mmm asian food. Feels like I haven't had any for ages. Came home, badgered hotel staff quite severely regarding the air-conditioning. Warned Liz first, since she didn't want to see it. Apparently is has been turned off. There's nothing wrong with it. It is brand new, the hotel has never had air-conditioning before this year's refurb. Their claim is that they need to run a higher current feed from the electricity company, which sounds like a reasonable explanation, but still, it's annoying cause it won't be fixed by the time we leave, and it was one of the reasons I chose here. I'm also slightly pissed about the amount of interrogation I had to use to get this information out of them. It would be nice if they'd given it up easier. I'm also a bit annoyed about the lack of a functioning TV in the room, and their explanations about the cause of this, but I can live without it. Apparently people steal the £9 universal remotes from the room of a 4-star hotel.
Anyway, enough accommodation ranting. Last full day in London tomorrow :(
