Just finished doing some network upgrades today. I replaced two crappy D-Link switches with one non-crappy Cisco. Unfortunately, the rack they were in was to narrow for the Cisco.

Not being a big fan of D-Link, I did what any lateral thinking person would do, and smashed the rack with the D-Link until the Cisco could fit in. Yay violence to D-Link.

Perhaps you should do a research project to test vendor switches and determine which vendor has the best switches for adjusting rack widths with?
