So I was going to make this post earlier, but Elizabeth was all like:

lolcats funny cat pictures stop posting

But she's in the shower now.

So yes, I made a lot of posts this morning, simply because it's been a while since I've been in front of a computer with a keyboard. I've been using my iPod Touch exclusively for web browsing for the last couple of days. I'm still amazed at what a great job it does. However, it's only good for browsing. Entering more than two lines of text is PAINFUL. Today it was posting tiem because we went to bed at like 9:30, and so I woke up early and had time to ponder the posts I wished to make. This having been done, I snaffled the computer, opened some tabs, wrote some notes and then went to work writing the posts.

I miss my Macbook Pro, but not lugging around has been good too. I bought it a present of some wrist rests, but I think it may be too late. But that's ok, the package had two in them, so if I buy another MBP, I'll have one for that one straight away. The rumours of the Internets say that the Macbook Mini/nano will finally be available October 25 this year, along with 10.5 and friends. I want to believe, and at under 3 weeks away, I may be able to hold off on purchasing a new laptop until then.

Also, what with a wedding etc coming up, I think I may try to stay at UWA for another year or so. Don't want too much on my plate really. This means I will get to salary sacrifice another laptop. Woot. Hopefully I can get my contract extended, so I'll see how that goes when I get back. It runs until Jan 2008 currently.

Wow, a small mac laptop might suck me back into apple hardware. I got burned badly on a white G3 iBook (it went back for repairs so many times I gave up and shelved it). I want something small (I'm on a Thinkpad X40) and I'm planning on traveling with it, but an OSX partition for the wife might make her happy. Of course, only having access to Linux for a year might convert her to Freedom.

I have a place that will fix the common death for G3 iBooks for about $40 each :)

ORLY? What is that? Because the one on my shelf is just taking up space.

I had the "logic board keeps breaking" problem that they kept claiming they fixed.

the common logic board death is from the graphics IC coming loose. There I's a place in calif called dttech that fixes it for about $100

ahh wow - that makes sense - it was always the graphics that started going.

Well, a G3 isn't going to do me much good when I've got the core duo imac...
