Oh man..

Now, I'll be the first to admit I'm not one to immediately trust DailyKos with information about prominent republicans, but I must say, this is convincing..

You (may or may not..) know that Sarah Palin (John McCain's VP running mate) has been widely reported of being pregnant, then having a baby with Downs Syndrome, thus fossilizing her pro-life platform.

Except, the problem that DailyKos has made a very very good case for, is that she looks like she was never pregnant during, well, all of her pregnancy, and as governor of Alaska, she gets photographed a lot. Her 16 year old daughter, on the other hand, was out of school for months with "Mono" and who looks pregnant in a bunch of official photos. Uh huuuh.

in that photo she's just chubby. pregnant bellies start at the pelvis, not just above the jeans line.

I was looking more at the shadow above her thumb, which looks like the bulge is going in

yet unfortunate fashion trends will have her jeans line and pelvis at the same level. I'd say the photo itself isn't convincing, especially since they'd surely take a bit more care if she was preggers, throw a younger sister in the way of the belly etc. I'm more convinced by the photos of Sarah looking so slim.

where by pelvis I mean pubic bone, which the jeans are at least 2 inches above. it was more that there is a distinct shadow showing the decrease in size of her belly near the jean line

the bottom of her belly looks like it's about in line with her bum crack, and if you follow your bum crack around to the front you will find your pubic bone. The shadow you mention, in my opinion, sways more towards pregnant belly since chubby bellies don't have such a sharp indent, while pregnant bellies to. Not to mention there is significant variation in where women carry their babies.

Really we just need to find more photos of her.

check out the line of her backside, though - I think her hips are higher than you think they are, and she's on an angle so it doesn't look so bad.

when I stand in that same position I have the same bulge, so I think it is too high to be "pregnant" bulge, even taking into account the line of her arse
