Bwaha..

Oh man..

Now, I'll be the first to admit I'm not one to immediately trust DailyKos with information about prominent republicans, but I must say, this is convincing..

You (may or may not..) know that Sarah Palin (John McCain's VP running mate) has been widely reported of being pregnant, then having a baby with Downs Syndrome, thus fossilizing her pro-life platform.

Except, the problem that DailyKos has made a very very good case for, is that she looks like she was never pregnant during, well, all of her pregnancy, and as governor of Alaska, she gets photographed a lot. Her 16 year old daughter, on the other hand, was out of school for months with "Mono" and who looks pregnant in a bunch of official photos. Uh huuuh.

Remind me again who shouldn't be trusted with "the button"?

I hate to have the whole pregnancy thing even be an issue, but it seems there are two possibilities:

1. Her labor started early (at least a month, possibly only a few weeks) when her water broke while she was in Texas. She got on an airplane back to Alaska (supposedly a normal commercial flight) where she had the baby.

She got on an airplane after her water broke. For a long flight. With a high risk, possibly premature baby. Doesn't sound like good judgement.

2. It was actually a ruse to cover the 16 year old's pregnancy. Again, questionable judgement.

The thing is, if her daughter had been pregnant and they'd handled it in a reasonable and non-deceptive manner, it would have increased my opinion of her. Not enough for me to vote for McCain, but it wouldn't have frightened me like the other two options do.

My hope is that the whole Texas story is misreported/rumor.

I do admit that, as someone who doesn't show much and probably could have flown to Alaska successfully, if not comfortably, during labor, I have a problem with all the people saying "That's not how it was for me, so it isn't possible". It's not entirely implausible to me. Just rather lacking in judgement.
