Pick an iPod, any iPod!

So, Apple likes simplicity in design and product lineup, which is why there are only a few products: mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro, Macbook Air and the X-Serve. Likewise, iPods have iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano, iPod Classic and iPod Touch, and consumer electronics have the Airport Extreme, Airport Express, Time Capsule and Apple TV.

So that seems like a fairly small product line up, easy to manage. Think again. Apple currently has *33* different iPod SKUs for Australia alone, and actually probably has more like 132 worldwide, as some countries require the volume limiter turned on by default, while in others, they turn it off by default, possibly to reduce CPU and thus battery usage, and the packaging differs between the J(Japan), LL(north america), ZP(Pacific), ZO(Europe) etc versions.

I couldn't possibly get one of each iPod :(

lulz.

I only have the iPod Touch, a 1G 10Gb iPod with dead battery, and a 4Gb mini with a dead battery.

You're not even trying.

In my defence, I only bought the touch. I also have an original shuffle somewhere, that went through the washing machine, then the dryer, that still works.

Hehe cool.

Liz and I had dinner with Lisa D (ex Apple) in Sydney. She gave us the tickets for Taronga Park Zoo.

Yeah, I was a little surprised when I worked out you two knew each other.
