Still in Switzerland. It's very pretty. Went up the Jungfrau yesterday. Will type more when on own computer.

Seriously though? German keyboards shit me to tears. Why the HELL is it convenient to require the shift key to type a / or an alt-key for a @ symbol? Man, it's like the keyboard layout was mandated by the Treaty of Versailles. The QWERTZ thing I can deal with, but the rest of it is a pain.

Unrelated post about the Qantas incident.. In the news article, the head of emergency medicine at Perth's biggest hospital said: '"There were minor cuts and scratches to the head and minor problems related to muscular injuries in the neck, as you can imagine if you were suddenly woken up and you were attached to the ceiling," he said. ' lawls australia. It should be noted that QF do tell you to keep your seatbelts on at all times..

I have the same complaint with Swedish keyboards. They have far too many (of what I consider the) important punctuation keys hidden under AltGr.

I dunno, maybe it's the other letters their language uses: ä, ö, ü do come up a bit.

It depends on the country. The Germans don't use the eszet (ß) as much any more (the spelling reforms removed a lot of the usages). They do sometimes use ae for ä, but they'll also use the real key (since it's right there on the keyboard).

Psst. Jungfrau is the German word for "virgin".

That's what my hubby said too but I reminded him that some (not all!) of those people with no seatbelts might have been walking to the loo or stretching their legs (since it was an international flight I believe?).

Scary incident any how!
