So in my decluttering, I've decided to get rid of as many computers as possible, preferably for money. To these ends, I had a MacBook that I ripped apart, thinking it was dead. Cept it wasn't. After kicking half the screws on the floor, and not keeping track of its bits 5 months ago when I took it apart, I've decided to make it back into a MacBook. This is a lot like doing a jigsaw puzzle. It took me the better part of 4 hours..
I bought a new top case for it off eBay, and still need to get an optical drive. Remarkably, it all works so far, except there are some hairline cracks in the screen, which is a bit of a pain, but you can only see them from some angles.. I think I never noticed them before since you can only see it looking down on the screen, and I never looked at it from that angle before.
In other Apple news, if you're in Australia and want to buy an iMac or iPod, before the end of the year would be a good time.. you might get something newer, but you'll pay more, since it will be priced at AUD$1 = USD$0.65, instead of the $0.80 they are currently.
