For a working holiday in Canada, we have to actually get there. Which isn't all that cheap.

Qantas + Air Canada, via Sydney
Perth - 4 hours - Sydney - 15 hours - Vancouver - $2986

Qantas + Air Canada, via London
Perth - 5 hours -
Singapore - 13 hours -
London - 10 hours -
Vancouver
$1508 + $1244 = $2752

I think perhaps it's not worth it for the $200pp savings..

What about http://vaustralia.com.au/ which is $2000 for SYD-LAX? http://www.escapetravel.com.au/ have an implausibly low $1148 + fees PER-YVR flight with SQ.

Don't want to fly through the US which rules out VOz.. and SQ cancels flights Singapore to Vancouver flight from April 26th, sadly.

Aww nuts. That's the solution I suggested, and I took SQ to Vancouver via SIN.

If you don't mind going through the states, I would seriously consider going to LA, and then taking a relatively internal flight up to Seattle or Vancouver. Flights to LA are on massive sale, and you might end up saving up to $1000.

But yeah, it was expensive when I flew 3.5 years ago. I paid around $2800 for a round the world fare that went up via Korea to Vancouver.

Pity Canada 3000 aren't around anymore with their cheap flights Sydney to Vancouver via Brisbane.

You don't have any frequent flyer points or credit card reward points? If you have them sitting around, it's often best to use them on one way flights, because airlines tend to price gouge the one way flights but leave them at a reasonable point cost.

And no routes you like from SQ, NZ or UA?

My SQ points expire soon, there's a good chance I'll be letting them lapse :/
