Chocolate and vanilla ice cream, with bits of chocolate-covered toffee, white chocolate, peanut butter cups & chocolate-coated almonds. It's pretty good!

We're on holiday until we get work. I think I've applied for about 6 jobs so far.

I am hesitating about calling the people who have advertised them, but I'm told I should do that. We'll see.

You should probably call. Definitely call if they're recruitment agencies. You're an articulate and knowledgeable man, so opening your mouth should improve your chances. Plus since your situation is non-standard your story becomes more important.
