Our bedroom = C$1331.63

I think we're at about C$2900 in furniture (almost 100% ikea) and C$3000 in Appliances (ok, maybe I didn't need the 42 inch 120hz full HD LCD TV and HD PVR, but whatever :) That sum also includes a toaster, phone and LCD for Elizabeth). We still don't have a dining table, and have thoughts of a futon for the spare room (but for now, an inflatable air bed will have to do for any visitors). If we do bugger off back to Perth in 10 months, with any luck we can make half of it back at least.

All of the furniture is put together now, but the rest of the house is still a bit of a mess - we have a lot of cardboard packaging to get rid of, and since 1st September was moving day for a LOT of people, the cardboard recycling bin downstairs is full. Actually, it's two huge dumpsters, but they're full. Will attempt to do similar photos of other rooms of the house when it's in a fit state for that.

So our bedroom.. Ikea Malm bed, Malm bedside tables and Malm chests of drawers = C$427 before tax. Mattress was another C$699. Pillows were another C$27. Sheets from Perth. Grono lamps + bulbs were C$17.98 each, making a total of C$1331.63 (AU$1444.85) . There's an Ikea comforted/doona in the cover, but I can't remember how much it was. Probably not much.

I can't wait to furnish my room. Since I don't have a high-paying job, yet, I will need to be a little more frugal. :-P

I found it so WEIRD that everyone moves on the first day of the month, and that was normal both in Alberta & BC.

Très chic! View looks interesting - how high are you? It's hard to tell from the photograph.

It's the "17th" floor, but being in ChinaCity, there's no 4th or 14th floor, and in deference to western sensibilities, there's no 13th either, so really it's the 14th floor.

That's amazingly superstitious! Bear in mind that if you start saying it's "really the 14th floor", the people under you might decide theirs is "really the 13th" ...
