Ads for "The Neighborhood" from MCI really shit me. Equating telephone calling plans with the right to free speech and first amendment rights? You lamers. The right to free speech is something that I feel is very important, but it has nothing to do with your telephone, it has to do with public expression of ideas and beliefs.

Gah. Idiots. If you fall for that, you're even worse. It might be a good calling plan, but you're not defending your first amendment (in the US) rights by choosing it. Which is clearly what they want you to think.

heh. funny thing about mci and free speech.

they managed to make about $1000 off my brother because they neglected to tell him when they were convincing him to switch from his bell long-distance plan that what they were offering him was not for long-distance to canada. they said they were offering him something which was better than his current plan, so he took it. well, his current plan was specifically for calls to canada.

he's been home now for more than a month, and he's still paying the fuckers money.

Ouch.. that sucks. In Australia, we have a government body called the "telecommunications industry ombudsman" which investigates complaints about telephone companies and ISPs and have the power to levy heavy fines on companies. The fun part however, is that they charge the company an investigation fee if someone complains about them, meaning many customers have problems sorted out at the company level by mentioning contacting the TIO. Bwahah :)

yeah. the fun part is, AFTER he had insisted on cancelling his service with them, they didn't. the bill he received a couple days ago still had calls on MCI's plan. fucking bastards.

i honestly think he should not pay it. god knows they don't deserve it.
